Why Measure What We Breathe?

It is established that 30 to 80% of outdoor pollution migrates into our interiors.
In addition to this outdoor-origin pollution, our interiors accumulate pollutants specific to chemical or biological nature.
It is generally considered that indoor air is 5 to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air.
This accumulation of pollutants directly impacts our health.
Measuring indoor air quality allows us to assess our exposure to these pollutants, identify the causes of this exposure, and therefore act for our health and that of our loved ones.

What Does the Air Quality Monitor TEQOYA S1 Measure?

The TEQOYA S1 air quality monitor continuously measures and analyzes:

  • The PM2.5 mass concentration index for fine particles
  • The number of particles floating in each liter of air and an estimation of exposure to nanoparticles, to more finely assess your air quality based on a calculation method developed by TEQOYA
  • The relative humidity
  • The temperature

Once installed in a room of your home, it will indicate the level of risks based on the various measurements taken.

A question?

The international reference for air quality is the mass of all particles smaller than 2.5 microns (PM2.5). This indicator undervalues submicron particles, which have very low mass. To establish relevant measurements for health, the TEQOYA S1 air quality monitor also measures the number of particles (PM+). Thus, it takes into account all particles, including the smallest and therefore the most dangerous, with the same level of importance.

Once installed, the TEQOYA S1 air quality monitor analyzes data almost immediately. However, to have a representative view of air quality in a room during its different activity phases, we recommend measuring over a minimum period of one month, which is why we have implemented the Tester My Air offer.

As a general rule, the most polluted rooms are the kitchen (more information on the impact of cooking on our blog) and the garage. However, certain activities can generate emissions, such as painting, handling fabrics and wool for sewing or knitting, cutting or sanding various materials for DIY projects... The TEQOYA S1 air quality monitor can be moved from one room to another to assess the air in all your living spaces.

The TEQOYA S1 air quality monitor connects easily: simply scan its QR code with your phone, then follow the instructions. It is connected to the AirObserver app: you will see the evolution of air quality not only in your home or apartment but also that of outdoor air in your neighborhood thanks to our partnership with Meersens.

Improving indoor air quality depends on the type of pollutants present. It is recommended to limit the source of pollution when possible (for tobacco, by choosing low-emission furniture...) and to equip yourself with an air purifier. Each purification technology has its specificities, explained on our blog. Ozone-free ionization developed by TEQOYA acts on 99.9% of pollutants and the AirObserver app advises you on the gestures to adopt. In any case, refreshing the air by ventilating your home or apartment remains essential.
