Asthma and Allergies

Breathing shouldn’t feel like an effort

If you or someone you live with suffers from asthma or allergies, you know how easily dust, pollen, or polluted air can trigger crisis — especially in rooms where you spend time, and at night.

Ionization purifies your room’s air: it counters harmful particles, so your air becomes cleaner — and breathing easier.

How your air affects your respiratory system

Every time you breathe, you inhale the air that surrounds you — and everything it carries with it.

Most of the time, this air contains tiny particles you can’t see: pet danders, mold spores and fungal fragments, dust mite, formaldehyde, and more. Indoor, they tend to linger in the air or settle on surfaces.

For most people, this goes unnoticed. But for those living with asthma or allergies, these particles irritate the airways and trigger symptoms — like coughing, congestion, or difficulty breathing.

Because modern homes are well insulated and less ventilated, they allow indoor pollutants to build up more easily over time, especially in rooms where we spend hours, like when sleeping, working, or simply hanging out.

chambre

The 3 common ways to improve indoor air

People use many methods to make indoor air healthier, in order to prevent their allergy or asthma crisis. There are three main ones:

aération

Opening windows helps renew the air

But it also lets new particles in, especially near busy streets or pollen seasons.

spray contre pollution

Some people turn to plants or natural sprays

These can make a space feel fresher, but they rarely remove fine particles that actually cause discomfort or allergies.

filtre hepa

Air purifiers with filters are another option

they capture dust, allergens, and pollutants effectively. Yet, they can be noisy when you’re trying to sleep or focus. And since they rely on disposable filters, they need regular maintenance — creating more waste and using extra resources in the process.

Each solution helps in part, but few address air quality at its source, quietly and sustainably.

How we use a natural phenomenon: air ionization

Have you ever thought that when it rains, after a storm or near a waterfall, the air feels especially fresh and pure?

That's thanks to a natural event: the air being cleaned by negative ions.

In short, when water drops break, they create negative ions, which attach themselves to airborne particles (from dust and pollen, to pollutant and fine particles).

These harmful particles become charged with negative ions, and they start being attracted by bigger electrostatic masses. Indoors, that means furniture, walls, and in most cases, the ground. So as they get charged with more and more negative ions, they're attracted away from where you could breathe them.

That's how negative ions remove harmful particles in the air, leaving it as pure as possible.

Our ionizer air purifiers recreate this natural process indoors.

Instead of pulling air through a disposable filter, like most air purifiers, ours release negative ions to neutralize pollutants directly in the air / or attract them into a cleanable compartment.

This means there’s no noisy ventilation, and no filters to replace — just cleaner air that feels lighter and fresher, like in nature.

They suffered from asthma and allergies before using TEQOYA air purifiers

Before, I had asthma problems. But since we installed the ionizer, I have far fewer breathing issues. Before, I had to take long-term treatment, but now that's over.

Malo Guyon-Alsat, Middle school student, France (Paris Region)

For several years I have suffered from asthma. Your concept convinced me, so I bought a TEQOYA that I placed in our bedroom. Overnight: no more attacks! I've only had one since, and it happened in the car. Since then, I’ve bought two more: one for our living room and another for my office at work. [...] I’m quite optimistic — in my opinion, in a few months my asthma will have completely disappeared.

Fabien Carpentier, France

I have a dust allergy that makes me sneeze as soon as there is even a little dust in the air. Since the Teqoya device has been proudly placed in my living room, I have far fewer episodes.

Gisèle, France

I have asthma problems and chronic sinusitis that kept me from sleeping well at night… Congested nose, difficulty breathing. Since installing the TEQOYA T200 on my bedside table, I’ve noticed that I can sleep through the night. Not that all my health issues are fully resolved, but there is a real improvement. I’m very happy with the device and wouldn’t hesitate to take it with me when I sleep away from home because it’s very compact, lightweight, and fits easily into a suitcase.

Karima Layeb, France

In our household, three of us have asthma, including two children with asthma-like coughs. We bought three TEQOYA devices, and since installing them in the bedrooms, we’ve seen improvements: fewer asthma-like coughs, fewer sick days at home, and certainly better sleep quality. We’re happy with our investment.

Anonymous, France (Paris Region)

I was less out of breath when climbing metro stairs, for example. Also, during physical effort, I feel more endurance [...] Since the ionizer has been plugged in at home, I’ve had half as many attacks [...] As I’m very satisfied with Teqoya and find it truly effective, I talk about it whenever I can.

Christine H., France

My daughter has asthma and is prone to coughing fits that can last 3 to 4 hours! After placing the purifier in her room, her coughing fits disappeared — she now has only one per week! She sleeps better, breathes better, and no longer wakes up in tears [...] It’s a good investment.

Audrey, France

Half an hour after turning on the TEQOYA T450: no more headaches, no more coughing. My allergies have decreased. What a difference at home!

Anonymous, Belgium

It’s now been about two weeks since your ionizer was installed in my bedroom. Beyond the very successful design and compact size, I wanted to share my satisfaction. My early mornings are much better. As someone with asthma, this is very appreciable.

Our technology is used by health professionals

When we started TEQOYA in 2015, it was backed by more than 15 years of research and many proven institutes. You can learn more about how our technology works by clicking here.

Our founder, Pierre, wanted to first help his asthmatic daugther, then the most people possible, breath clean air. Turns out most health professional share this goal, and many adopted TEQOYA across their establishments.

Today, our purifiers are present in hospitals, at several nursing homes, and in numerous consultation and waiting rooms of health professionals.

About TEQOYA

Pierre was looking to help his daughter, who suffered from asthma.

He discovered the benefits of an air ionization system developed by Jacques Breton, an eminent Professor, and member of the New York Academy of Sciences, who spent more than 15 years studying air ionization.

This systems works by emitting negative ions, without generating ozone or any chemical substance, to neutralize polluting particles. It was then proven by research, but not offered to the general public.

But in 2014, a huge peak in air pollution happened in Paris. This became the trigger who motivated Pierre to create TEQOYA, and share this technology with as many people as possible.

Since then, TEQOYA has been receiving many awards, support, and was chosen by many brands and institutions. But most importantly, it has helped thousands of people breath clean air.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, air purifiers and ionizers are not medical treatments. They treat the air you breathe, making it easier to breathe and helping compensate for the difficulties caused by your asthma or allergies.
Our products have no replaceable filters, so you don’t need to make any additional purchases to maintain them. You simply need to clean them from time to time, unlike HEPA filter devices that require regular replacement of their single-use filters.
Ventilating your indoor space renews the air, which is beneficial and should be done regularly. However, this also brings in outdoor pollutants, and purifiers help clean this air trapped inside. They do work when the window is open, but since the air is being renewed at the same time as it is purified, the process is less effective.
We lend you a TEQOYA S1 sensor for any purchase of a TEQOYA product (excluding Nomad), free for one month: simply check the option offered during your purchase on our website. This sensor is also available on its own, for purchase or rental.

The perception of air ionization depends on your environment, sensitivity, and current air quality. We recommend consulting our customer testimonials to discover their experiences.

Please note that we also offer a “satisfied or 100% refunded” guarantee (excluding delivery fees) within 30 days from the receipt of your purchase.
