Bad Smells
Bad smells tend to stick.
From cooking, pets, humidity, or even new furniture — they can make a room feel stuffy or unpleasant, even when everything looks clean.
But you don’t just want to cover these odors. You want to remove what causes them.

Every smell we perceive comes from tiny airborne molecules. When you cook, smoke, or simply live indoors, these molecules spread through the air and cling to fabrics, furniture, and dust.
Even when you ventilate your room a lot, it sticks around: because modern homes are built to retain warmth and energy — which also means keeping air inside longer.
As a result, odor molecules accumulate, mix, and settle in the very spaces you spend most of your time.
They don’t necessarily indicate poor hygiene. It’s simply the normal effect of closed, still air — especially in kitchens, bedrooms, or living spaces that aren’t aired out a few times per day.
Over time, this “background odor” can create a constant sense of stuffiness, making your home feel less fresh than it really is.

People try different approaches to improve air freshness, each helping in part — but none truly resolving the problem.

Opening windows helps renew indoor air, but it also brings new odors or pollutants in, especially near traffic or agricultural areas.

Scented candles, diffusers, and sprays can make the air smell pleasant for a while, but they only mask odors temporarily — while adding more particles to the air.

Filter-based air purifiers do capture fine particles, but odor molecules are too small to be trapped effectively. They also require regular filter replacements, which creates extra waste and maintenance.
Have you ever thought that when it rains, after a storm or near a waterfall, the air feels especially fresh and pure?
That's thanks to a natural event: the air being cleaned by negative ions.
In short, when water drops break, they create negative ions, which attach themselves to airborne particles (from dust and pollen, to pollutant and fine particles).
These harmful particles become charged with negative ions, and they start being attracted by bigger electrostatic masses. Indoors, that means furniture, walls, and in most cases, the ground. So as they get charged with more and more negative ions, they're attracted away from where you could breathe them.
That's how negative ions remove harmful particles in the air, leaving it as pure as possible.
Our ionizer air purifiers recreate this natural process indoors.
Instead of pulling air through a disposable filter, like most air purifiers, ours release negative ions to neutralize pollutants directly in the air / or attract them into a cleanable compartment.
This means there’s no noisy ventilation, and no filters to replace — just cleaner air that feels lighter and fresher, like in nature.

After burning a cake in the oven (not me!!!) smoke spread through the living area, kitchen, and lounge. Emergency use of TEQOYA! Result: the smoke dispersed much faster than usual, and the smell disappeared within a few hours. Normally, the smoke would have cleared with intense ventilation and the odors would have lingered for several hours.
From the first days, we noticed a clear improvement in our breathing, as if the air felt lighter, making deep breaths effortless and falling asleep faster [...]. In addition to the particles that are quickly removed, which we observed with our Kaiterra devices, smoke odors, cooking smells, mold, pet odors, and outdoor pollution disappear quickly, leaving pure and pleasant air.
We had problems with bad odors in our little one's room [...] So, we got the TEQOYA Tip9. After it arrived, the bad odor disappeared very quickly. Since then, we got a second Tip9 for another room. We find it very useful and highly recommend it.
I use the TEQOYA T200 air ionizer at home and in my office. I bought these devices as additional protection against COVID. It's of course hard to prove its effectiveness for that, but I have noticed it helps with my husband’s respiratory allergy and certain bad odors; for example, food smells and ... shoes!
My husband has chronic pharyngitis and suffers from severe coughing. [...] After plugging it in, a green light turned on and a slight sound came from inside the device. Entering the room on the second day, I was amazed; I usually open windows to ventilate bad odors, but today I didn't smell anything.
I use TIP9 Teqoya devices both in my bedroom and at the office. [...] Thanks to my ionizer, bad odors and the feeling of stale air have completely disappeared [...] Since I plugged in an ionizer, I breathe and sleep much better.
TEQOYA, I can't live without it! At first, I was skeptical. Over the days, I felt better in my taxi—80% fewer particles, probably that. But the most impressive effect is on odors: no more sprays or hanging air fresheners, just pure air.
The ionizers run 24/7 in the cat hotel. What I notice today is that the air in the hotel is always pleasant. Despite the constant presence of cats, the hotel still smells fresh and woody. Guests find it very pleasant. I don't know if it's due to the ionizers, but I find the air calming.
Purifying the air in the Dogs’ locker room had interested us for some time for several reasons. First, to show our players we care for them and professionalize a space representing their daily life. It's also a way to show our desire to put the team in the best conditions. Finally, reducing odors from ice hockey equipment was a welcome benefit to further improve the comfort of our locker room. We have been using Teqoya air purifiers since the start of the season and are very satisfied with their installation.
When we started TEQOYA in 2015, it was backed by more than 15 years of research and many proven institutes. You can learn more about how our technology works by clicking here.
Our founder, Pierre, wanted to first help his asthmatic daugther, then the most people possible, breath clean air. Turns out most health professional share this goal, and many adopted TEQOYA across their establishments.
Today, our purifiers are present in hospitals, at several nursing homes, and in numerous consultation and waiting rooms of health professionals.

Here are the products we recommend based on the room you want to equip:

DiscoverPierre was looking to help his daughter, who suffered from asthma.
He discovered the benefits of an air ionization system developed by Jacques Breton, an eminent Professor, and member of the New York Academy of Sciences, who spent more than 15 years studying air ionization.
This systems works by emitting negative ions, without generating ozone or any chemical substance, to neutralize polluting particles. It was then proven by research, but not offered to the general public.
But in 2014, a huge peak in air pollution happened in Paris. This became the trigger who motivated Pierre to create TEQOYA, and share this technology with as many people as possible.

Since then, TEQOYA has been receiving many awards, support, and was chosen by many brands and institutions. But most importantly, it has helped thousands of people breath clean air.
